Public Schools Win 4 Of 6 Games At EPCHS Sunday Showcase: Photos

Evergreen Park Community High School hosted a dozen high school basketball teams at the Sunday shootout.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL - A packed house was on hand to see the Sunday Showcase, an all-day lineup of high school boys basketball games at Evergreen Park Community High School on Sunday.

Six games tipped off consecutively, all pitting area public schools against private schools across Chicago and its suburbs.

Public schools won four of the six match-ups, with victories from Richards, Lemont, Evergreen Park and Homewood-Flossmoor. Private school teams that won were Mount Carmel and Leo.

"This year is the best field we have had," said EPCHS Assistant Athletic Director Pat Flannigan, who started the annual Sunday Showcase a few years ago.
