December 22, 2015, Oak Forest, Illinois — Individuals looking to sharpen their public speaking skills are encouraged to take part in an upcoming half-day workshop. The Chicagoland Speakers Network has announced plans for the 3rd Annual Public Speaking Symposium, to be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. The event is sponsored in part by South Suburban College’s Business & Career Institute, which will also serve as the host location, at 16333 S. Kilbourn Avenue in Oak Forest, Illinois.
The purpose of the event, open to the public, is to provide specific and positive guidance to individuals who are seeking support to hone their public speaking skills. Whether adults transitioning in their careers, college students preparing for the workforce, as well as current or aspiring community and business leaders, all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to attend. The workshop will include four qualified presenters. Alexandra Glumac, President of the Chicagoland Speakers Network, who works at the South Suburban College Business & Career Institute, is eager for participants to gain key skills from qualified and motivational speakers. “Our associates are passionate about helping others become great speakers, so we are thrilled to once again be presenting this Symposium for the third year,” according to Glumac. Whether entry level or aspiring executive, community organizer, small business owner, or student, our audience will learn important tools to enhance speaking abilities to help them achieve their goals,” she added.

Featured presenters for the Public Speaking Symposium are experienced public speakers who are associates of the Chicagoland Speakers Network (www.chicagolandspeakersnetwork.com) and represent a wide range of professional expertise. They include:“Four Keys to Unlock Your Speaking Abilities,” by Sabrina Schottenhamel, a licensed massage therapist and owner of Be Touched Massage. “What NOT to Wear or Do When Speaking” will be presented by Lori Klinka and Felicia Houston. “Tips on Preparing a Speech” will be offered by business coach Mary Erlain, and“Feedback: How to Ask for, Give It and What to do with It,” by professional organizer Colleen Klimczak will round out the Symposium program.
The event will begin with a “Healthy Breakfast Buffet,” followed by the four separate presentations, and closing with a panel Q&A discussion. Early bird registration for the Public Speaking Symposium is currently open, and runs thru January 15. The cost per person during Early Bird Registration is $39, and after January 15 is $49.
