Puck Drops For Fifth Annual Adult 4-X-4 Daniel Capuano Hockey Classic
The puck drops for the fifth annual Daniel Capuano 4-x-4 adult hockey classic at Yukich Fields Feb. 28 and March 1 in Evergreen Park.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — The teams have been formed, the food truck has been booked, and silent auction prizes assembled for the the fifth annual 4-on-4 Capuano Classic, Feb. 28 and March 1. All that are needed now are fans to come out and watch some highly competitive, amateur adult hockey. Admission is free,
If you’re a hockey fan or just enjoy watching middle-aged hockey rats, the two-day outdoor hockey tournament will be played at the Daniel V. Capuano Ice Rink at 89th Street and Kedzie.
The games start at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, and continue until around 7 p.m. Play starts at 9 a.m. Sunday, March 1, and continues until around 6:30 p.m. If it’s too warm, the tourney will be pushed until the next weeken.

This year’s classic features two divisions: the Main Event 21+ and 40+/Co-Ed division. A portion of proceeds from entry fees will be split 50-50 between the Evergreen Park Recreation Department and the Ende, Menzer, Walsh & Quinn CFD Retirees, Widows and Orphans Fund.
The Main Event 21+ and 40+/Co-Ed Division championship games will both take place in the late aftersnoon on Sunday, March 1. For the 40+/Co-Ed game, women and goalies need only be 21 or older.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase from Rojo Verde Antojtos Mexicanos food truck, plus split-the-pot and chuck-a-puck. Returning this year is the silent auction, including Hawks tickets, memorabilia, gift baskets and more. The tournament is named in honor of Daniel Capuano, a Chicago firefighter who died in the line of duty in December 2015. Capuano was a 15-year veteran of the Chicago Fire Department, and had worked 16 years as a part-time firefighter and paramedic for the Evergreen Park Fire Department.
