The Red Palm Will Donate 10-Percent of Sales to 'Christmas Without Cancer'
Evergreen Park restaurant supports local cancer group by offering 10 percent of sales all day Thursday, Sept. 3.

The Red Palm Bar and Grill will donate 10 percent of all sales Thursday, September 3 to Christmas Without Cancer to support sign up efforts for the Evergreen Park’s non-profit’s 5K Run/Walk at Klein Park next month.
“This is a wonderful gesture by the Nix family,” said Gerri Neylon, founder of Christmas Without Cancer. “The Red Palm approached us and asked how they could help. With the 5K Walk/Run exactly one month from this event, it helps generate money to run the event and build awareness. We can also sign people up that night.”
Individuals and groups can sign up for the 5K Run/Walk at the restaurant on Thursday evening, or by registering on the group’s website on Saturday, October 3.

Christmas Without Cancer is in its 13th year of providing relief for families strapped with costs related to having a family member suffer through the effects of cancer. The board voted to establish an annual race on the first Saturday in October to “kick off the season of giving early.”
Neylon, an oncology nurse at Advocate Christ Medical Center, said that people begin to approach her around this time to help identify families in need of assistance. From Thanksgiving to Christmas our core group of volunteers is focused on our mission.
