New Lacrosse Varsity Coach To Bring Winning Ways to St. Laurence High School

Patrick Gaeger will be the new head varsity lacrosse coach at St. Laurence High School in Burbank.

BURBANK, IL -- St. Laurence High School has a hired a new coach to head up the varsity boys lacrosse program. Patrick Gaeger will begin his new role at the start of the school year. In addition to his coaching duties, Gaeger will join the admissions team to help recruit next year’s class of St. Laurence scholars and leaders.

Gaeger, 27, previously held the position of associate head coach of the men’s lacrosse team at Robert Morris University, where he helped lead the team from a sub .500 record to back-to-back conference titles. Gaeger also served as an admissions counselor at RMU.

“It is with great honor and enthusiasm that I accept this position at St. Laurence,” Gaeger said in a news release. “From the moment I stepped on campus, I was treated as a member of the St. Laurence family. My mission as coach is to uphold the tradition of success that is rooted deep in the school’s athletic community and build champions of life.”

Born and raised in Elk Grove Village, Gaeger graduated from Saint Viator High School in Arlington Heights. In high school, he was a three-year varsity starter at the goalie position, a two-time All-Conference selection, an All-State selection and part of Team Illinois. Gaeger then played at Adrian College, where he won three conference championships and made three national tournament appearances during his stint in goal.

“We are thrilled to welcome Patrick as our new lacrosse coach,” said St. Laurence Athletic Director Tim Chandler. “His passion and energy for lacrosse were evident during the interview process, and his Catholic school background will make him even more successful. We have a shared vision of taking the lacrosse program to the next level through hard work and stability in the coaching staff.”

Grade school boys entering 5th through 8th grade can meet Coach Gaeger for the first time at this summer’s lacrosse summer camp, which runs from July 17-20. Campers are invited to sign up at St. Laurence Summer Camps.
