St. Gerald Fest and Carnival 2018: What You Need To Know
St. Gerald's Fest and Carnival features bands, bingo, beer, rides, games and raffles Aug. 16 through Aug. 19.
OAK LAWN, IL -- For over 60 years, the parishioners of St. Gerald Church have been on a mission from God setting up booths and rides on the corner of Southwest Highway and Central Avenue in Oak Lawn for the annual summer parish carnival. This weekend the ever popular St. Gerald Fest returns for four fun-filled days, from Aug. 16 through Aug. 19. The carnival offers rides, music, food, bingo, crafts and raffles.
St. Gerald Parish welcomes Chuck's Southern Comfort Cafe of Burbank, New China Express and Buddy's Italian Ice to the food court. Father Malcolm's food tent returns along with his famous bread. Parishioners have also lined up some spectacular beer tent entertainment, including the Bobby Dunn Band, Black Bear Rodeo, Dancing Noodles, Joe Fascetta, Two 4 the Road and Almost Einstein.
Due to ongoing construction on Southwest Highway, friendly Oak Lawn police officers will be directing traffic, guiding cars and pedestrians entering and leaving the carnival.

You can still buy four-day mega passes at the $40 pre-sale price through 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16; $60 at the carnival. The mega passes are good for ALL rides for ALL four days for ALL ages. Mega passes can be purchased by the calling the parish office at 708-422-0234. Unlimited ride specials are available from 1 to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday; wristbands are $20.
Hours of the carnival are 5 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16; 5 to 11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17; 1 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18; and 1 to 10 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19.

Bingo will be played in the Jonathan Collins Activity Center from 6 to 10 p.m. Aug. 16; 6 to 11 p.m.; 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 11 p.m. Aug. 18; and 2 to 8 p.m. Aug. 19.
