Pedestrian Injured In Hit-And-Run, Police Search For Driver

Oak Lawn police are asking for the public's help who may have witnessed a vehicle vs. pedestrian hit-and-run accident early Wednesday.

OAK LAWN, IL -- A woman was struck by a vehicle early Wednesday morning. Oak Lawn police say the driver did not stop after hitting the pedestrian.

The accident happened around 6 a.m. at 95th Street and Kostner Avenue. The woman was in the crosswalk of westbound 95th Street when she was hit by the vehicle. Police said the vehicle didn’t stop and it is not known if the driver knew that they struck the pedestrian.

The pedestrian was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center for treatment. Police said her medical condition is not known at this time.

The investigation has not turned up any witnesses to the accident and police are asking anyone with information about the driver or who may have witnessed the accident to contact the Oak Lawn Police Department Traffic Unit at 708-422-8292.
