CHICAGO - Saint Xavier University's oldest and most well-known dormitory is about to come down, but anyone sad about the impending loss of the 55-year-old building next to Lake Marion at the center of campus can keep some of it with them for life. Bricks from the building following demolition planned for this summer will be sold, and online ordering has already opened.

All bricks will have a decorative etching of the building created by a current SXU student.

They will be ready for pickup by Homecoming 2019 in the fall.

Regina Hall has housed thousands of SXU students since it was built in 1964 and was the place where countless friendships were born, SXU Alumni Relations said in an e-mail. The university decided earlier this school year that they would not pursue the necessary renovations that are needed at the building and opted instead to demolish it to increase the amount of greenspace surrounding the campus lake.
