Children's Museum Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11
Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing July 15 through July 21 at the Children's Museum in Oak Lawn.
OAK LAWN — The Children’s Museum in Oak Lawn is launching summer programming activities this week, July 15 through July 21, to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing.
There will be different activities each day led by staff and volunteers which will appeal to a variety of ages. During scheduled play, staff or volunteers will lead visitors in an activity or craft that will be earth, space or summer related. There will also be a STEM / NISE activity or science experiment each day. Many of the science experiments will be about space to honor the Apollo 11 anniversary.
The museum’s “Sun, Earth and Universe” exhibit will also continue to be on display through May 2020. Visitors to the exhibit can explore the possibility of life on other planets and learn about the conditions of other planets through the use of representational color.
