377 Grams Of Pot and Roman Candles Found In Traffic Stop: Police
Villa Park man he purchased 377 grams of cannabis at a medical marijuana dispensary, Oak Lawn police said.
OAK LAWN, IL — Fireworks and a large quantity of marijuana were found in a minivan when the driver was pulled over for speeding, reports said. Stefan Givens, 31, of Villa Park, was charged with felony possession of cannabis, a misdemeanor count of possession of fireworks, and one traffic citation for speeding.
Around 6:18 p.n. July 5, an Oak Lawn police officer was patrolling the area for speeders when he spotted a silver minivan going 47 mph in a 30-mph zone. The officer stopped the minivan in the 4900 block of Southwest Highway, driven by a man later identified as Givens, along with his wife and another passenger.
According to the report, when the officer approached the minivan he detected the fresh odor of marijuana. The officer saw a black plastic bag filled with smaller bags of suspected cannabis on the front passenger seat floor, police said. The officer secured the bag, which police said had 377 grams of cannabis, as well a package of Roman candles and a digital scale.

Givens allegedly told police he bought 150 grams of cannabis at a medical marijuana dispensary in Addison. Police said Givens claimed he paid cash for the cannabis, but could not produce a receipt. He was taken into custody and charged, reports said.
