Sample Craft Beer And Run 0.262 miles In EP Library's Micro-Marathon
Beer lovers, book lovers, and runners of all levels are invited to the Evergreen Park Library Foundation's first Micro Marathon, Oct. 1

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — The Evergreen Park Public Library Foundation invites beer lovers, book lovers, and runners of all levels to their first Micro Marathon, Saturday, Oct. 1, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Evergreen Park library, 9400 S. Troy Ave.
“This is the type of marathon you can complete in flip-flops!” says librarian Jenna Harte-Wisniewski. “You might be wondering why this marathon is only 0.262 miles. It’s because we’re readers, not runners.”
Included in the ticket price is an optional 0.262 mile fun-run at the start of the event around the Library (approximately 2 laps), a souvenir sticker and cup which you can fill with samples of local craft beers and ciders from Open Outcry Brewing Company, Eris Brewery and Cider House, Banging Gavel Brews, Horse Thief Hollow and Revolution Brewery. Food from Joey’s Red Hots food truck and live music from local band Friendly Fire are also featured.

All proceeds from the Micro Marathon benefit the Evergreen Park Public Library Foundation, which supports programming and services outside the scope of the library’s budget. Some notable Foundation purchases include the Trike-a-Delic Rider, the newly-dedicated Nicki Seidl Reading Room, and every child’s favorite, the lobby fish tank. The foundation is hoping to raise enough funds for more STEAM programming and materials in order to promote learning and play in the science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics fields for all ages.
Visit Evergreen Park Library to purchase tickets in advance at $35 or buy tickets at the door at $40. Proceeds benefit the good works of the EP Library Foundation. This program is kindly sponsored by Scannell & Associates, Providea Health Partners, Culver’s, Binny’s Beverage Depot, Keyser Industries, Avantara of Evergreen Park, Evergreen Care Center, Laura Kelly Homes-Coldwell Banker Realty, First National Bank of Evergreen Park, and McDonald’s (103 & Kedzie Ave).
