Sex Offender Arrested After Attending Parish Carnival: Cops
Convicted sex offender was spotted at Queen of Martyrs by alert neighbors who notified police, cops say.

A convicted sex offender is facing new criminal charges after he allegedly broke the law by attending the Queen of Martyrs parish carnival last weekend.
Donald Leib, 45, of 10320 S. Albany Ave., in Mt. Greenwood, was charged with violating his sex offender registration by being in a school zone.

According to the charges, Leib was at the parish carnival at 10233 S. Central Park, Evergreen Park, last week. Alert neighbors spotted Leib and immediately reported his presence to police.

Leib was subsequently arrested by Evergreen Park police.
He appeared for a bond hearing on Friday before Cook County Judge Peter Felice, where bail was set at $50,000, with ten percent to apply.
According to state records, Leib is listed as a sexual predator with past convictions for child abduction/luring, and indecent solicitation of a child in 2008. Leib was 37 and his victim was 12 at the time of the offense.
Leib’s next court hearing is on Oct. 29 in Bridgeview. If convicted, he faces up to three years in prison and ten additional years on the Illinois Sex Offender Registry.
