EVERGREEN PARK, IL — The Smiley Tillmon Band keeps the grooves tight and right this Friday, Aug. 4. The free summer concert starts at 6 p.m. in James J. Sexton Park, 91st and Rockwell, in Evergreen Park. The Barn will also be open for visits with the animals before and during the concert.

The Smiley Tillmon Band is one of the busiest blues outfits in the Midwest. Born Moses Tillmon in Jefferson County, Georgia, Smiley grew up on a diet of gospel, country, blues, with a little calypso thrown in. Backed by Kate Moss on guitar, bassist Tom Rezetko, and George Baumann on drums, the Smiley Tillmon Band presents a crowd pleasing evening.

Bring your snacks, beverages, blankets, lawn chairs and maybe some plastic to sit on and enjoy a relaxing summer evening of music in the park. Don't forget the mosquito repellent.
