'Spotlight on 99th' Theater Summer Camp Returns to EPHS

Summer musical camp returns to Evergreen Park High School with performance of 'Seussical Jr.' Registration open now.

Evergreen Park High School is revving up for the return of “Spotlight on 99th,” a summer musical theater camp for students in grades 3 and up.

Students will mount “Seussical Jr.,” a compilation of beloved Dr. Seuss stories set to music. The camp will meet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, from June 6 to June 25. Performances will take place June 24 and June 25.

All students entering grade 3 and up are welcome. Campers will receive music, dance, and acting instruction as they prepare for their performances. They will also assemble their own props for the show. The cost of the camp is $175 for Evergreen Park residents, and $200 for non-residents, which includes instruction materials/script, t-shirt and a cast party.

Camp director Amy Kazin is on the fine arts staff at EPHS, where she has been directing high school productions since 2000. Students will also have the chance to interact with other community theater veterans and EPHS theater alumni and students.
