State Rep. Kelly Burke Hosts FREE Women's Self-Defense Seminar, June 19

Come to a free self-defense seminar June 19 hosted by Rep. Kelly Burke at Saint Xavier University's Shannon Center.

EVERGREEN PARK, Ill. – State Rep. Kelly Burke (36th District) and State Sen. Bill Cunningham (18th District) are hosting a free Women’s Self-Defense Seminar on Monday, June 19 at 6 p.m. The seminar will be held in the back gym at Saint Xavier University’s Shannon Center, located at 3700 W. 103rd St., Chicago.

“Crime can happen anywhere at any time and unfortunately women are routinely targeted by criminals,” the Evergreen Park state lawmaker said. “My hope is this self-defense seminar will show how women can better defend themselves if they are ever attacked.”

Burke and Cunningham will welcome a trained law enforcement officer to lead the self-defense seminar, which is aimed at increasing awareness and keeping women safe. This free, interactive seminar will provide information and techniques for protecting yourself from assailants. Those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP by calling Burke’s constituent service office at 708-425-0571, or by email at kburke@kellyburkerep36.org.
