Students Collect Menstrual Products For Chicago Period Project
Central Middle School and the EP Library solicit donations for menstrual products so women in need can experience their periods with dignity

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — March is Women’s History Month, so the Evergreen Park Public Library and Central Middle School’s National Honor Society are working together to collect menstruation supplies from March 15 through March 30 for the Chicago Period Project.
Residents can drop off donations of individually packaged pads, wipes, tampons and liners at Central Middle School, 9400 S. Sawyer Ave. or the Evergreen Park Public Library, 9400 S. Troy Ave. The period product collection will culminate with a book discussion of the award-winning graphic novel “When Stars Are Scattered,” by Victoria Jamieson and Omar Mohamed, at 3:30 p.m., March 30, at the library.
The Chicago Period Project empowers homeless and in-need women and girls to experience their periods with dignity. The feminist, grassroots organization distributes pads, tampons, underwear, and other critical menstruation supplies to local shelters, schools, and crisis support networks.
