Team Efforts Key for Evergreen Park Track

Mustangs won a meet with Bremen and Richards on Tuesday and had some success in Thursday's Hillcrest Invite.

Evergreen Park’s boys track and field team competed at the Hillcrest Invite on Thursday, and junior Chris Cheatham took seventh place in the 110-meter hurdles, while the 4 x 800-meter relay team took fifth place.

On Tuesday, Evergreen Park hosted Richards and Bremen, and the Mustangs won the meet.

According to coach Ray Mankowski, in order for Evergreen Park to pull out victories, the Mustangs need to put together total team efforts.

“We don’t have one kid who’s a stud burner,” Mankowski said. “We’ve got some guys that can do some quality things and we’ll see what happens the rest of the year.”

Girls Soccer Squad Hurting

Evergreen Park’s girls soccer team is having a tough go of it. The Mustangs are 1-5 overall and 1-3 in the South Suburban Conference, and now they’re dealing with injuries to two starters.
