The Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation announces the appointment of Joseph Bullington as a board member. Joseph is a Senior Vice President at Old National Bank in Hickory Hills, IL. In addition to his new role with the Treasure Chest Foundation, he is a board member and secretary at the Midlothian Country Club. He and his wife Brigid live in Evergreen Park, and they have three kids. Joseph’s connection dates back to 2010 when he assisted with the financing process for the Treasure Chest Foundation building loan.

Colleen Kisel, CEO and Founder of the Treasure Chest Foundation, said, “We are pleased to welcome Joseph Bullington to the Board of Directors of the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation. We anticipate that Joseph’s finance, banking, fundraising and networking skills will be an asset to our Board. We thank Joseph for his willingness to serve.”

In accepting the new role, Joseph said, “I am excited to join the Treasure Chest Foundation board. Helping children and adolescents at a time when they are fighting a terrible disease is humbling and very rewarding. I hope I can add to the awesome work of the Treasure Chest’s founder and its board of directors.”

The POTCF is a unique organization whose services impact more than 16,100 young cancer patients in 66 cancer treatment centers in 21 states across the nation and in the District of Columbia. Nowhere else in the nation does such a program exist. Colleen Kisel founded the organization in 1996 after her then seven-year-old son Martin had been diagnosed with leukemia in 1993. Ms. Kisel discovered that giving her son a toy after each procedure provided a calming distraction from his pain, noting that when children are diagnosed with cancer their world soon becomes filled with doctors, nurses, chemotherapy drugs, surgeries and seemingly endless painful procedures. Martin celebrated his 29th anniversary of remission from the disease in March of 2022.
