Veterans Guests Of Honor At EPCHS Breakfast

Evergreen Park Community High School honors local veterans at student-hosted breakfast.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- Area military veterans were the guests of honor at Evergreen Park Community High School’s 11th annual veterans breakfast. The breakfast was hosted by the National Honor Society. Entertainment was provided by the band and choir students.

Veterans enjoyed the morning and students were grateful to have the opportunity to meet with them. The guests of honor talked about the people they met during their service, shared their experiences, and noted how important it is to honor our country.

The National Honor Society is sponsored by EPCHS social studies teacher Ben Nesler,. The band director is Ken Kazin and the choir director is Amy Kazin. Assistance was also provided by the kitchen and maintenance staffs.

“Our students really benefit from this opportunity to learn firsthand the sacrifice and patriotism of the veterans of our armed forces. It is my hope that they take this with them as they develop into our future leaders,” Nesler said.
