Village Of Evergreen Park Provides Storm Updates, Power Slowly Being Restored

EVERGREEN PARK, IL—As a result of Wednesday's storm, more than 4,400 Evergreen Park residents were left without power. As of Thursday morning, ComEd has restored service to over 1,600 residences. At this time, there is no estimated restoration time for the remaining customers affected; however, ComEd is working on providing one as soon as possible. The village will continue to share updates as they become available.

There are still some downed power lines in the village. Please call 911 to report any new downed lines or if lines begin to smoke or spark.

Public Works crews continue cleanup efforts throughout the village. They are prioritizing the most hazardous areas and preparing for the storms predicted later today.

The Evergreen Park Community Center, 3450 W. 97th St.,will be open until 6 p.m. Thursday for anyone who needs access to air conditioning, or needs to charge devices.

If you are able to do so safely, please check any catch basins near your homes and make sure they are clear before the next round of storms.

“The village has also received multiple calls, messages, and emails regarding storm damage. Please be assured that we are working through each one and may not be able to respond to each resident individually. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we address all reports as quickly as possible. As a reminder, we are unable to assist with damage due to private property trees.”
