Teen Robs Woman on Bus

A 17-year-old boy was arrested for robbery after he allegedly grabbed an iPhone out of a woman's hand on the Harlem Avenue Pace bus.

A 20-year-old woman told police the teen had asked to look at her bus route map, then grabbed her iPhone out of her hand when she pulled the stop chord on the bus, police said. 

He was arrested in the 1100 block of South Boulevard in Oak Park, processed on a felony robbery charge and held on bond.

Retail Theft Arrest

Police charged Kimberly Grayson, 53, of Cicero, with retail theft about 4 p.m. at Kmart, 7630 Roosevelt Rd. A Kmart employee told police she saw Grayson put several items in her cart, including nutritional drinks, a toothbrush, a wall shelf, a water purifier and some food, and cover them with a newspaper, police said. 

Police said Grayson stole about $103 in merchandise. She was processed, given an Oct. 15 court date and released on bond. 

Suspended License

Patricia McMillan, 51, of Forest Park, was arrested driving on a suspended license, failure to signal and improper lane usage around 2 a.m. near the intersection of Marengo Avenue and Madison Street. She was given local ordinance citations, processed and released. 

Warrant: Invalid License

Police charged Filiberto Katich, 49, of Cicero, with a warrant out of North Riverside for driving without a valid license around 1:15 a.m. near the intersection of Harlem Avenue and I-290. He was processed and held for North Riverside police. 

MONDAY, AUGUST 12

Car Part Stolen

Someone cut the catalytic converter from a 2008 Hyundai parked in the 1100 block of Harlem Avenue between 9 a.m. Aug. 11 and 8:30 a.m. Aug. 12. The estimated cost of damage is $1,100, police said.
