Theft Attempt
A resident in the 200 block of Elgin Avenue in Forest Park reported someone tried to steal her car after her son noticed it was parked in an odd spot around 12:45 a.m. The woman told police someone had pulled one of the car windows away from its frame and peeled a column in an attempt to start the car, but only moved it a few feet, police said.Felony Retail Theft
Police charged Sandra Washington, 41, with felony retail theft after she stole about $130 in clothes from Walmart, 1300 Des Plaines Ave. around 3:30 p.m. Washington was charged and held for bond hearings.Like Forest Park Patch on Facebook
Public Urination
Police arrested Glenn Chairs, 52, for peeing in public at the CTA blue line station, 711 Des Plaines Ave., around 8 p.m. Chairs told police he'd been drinking King Cobra and that he "Just couldn't hold it."He received a local ordinance citation for public urination, a Sept. 4 court date and was released from the scene.
Driver Ignores Pedestrians at Crosswalk
Dennis Murphy, 63, of Chicago was arrested for failure to yield to a pedestrian after he drove through a cross walk at the intersection of Thomas Avenue and Madison Street, ignoring two groups of pedestrians who were trying to cross around 11:40 p.m. He was given a citation and released from the scene.Dog Attack
Edward Huether II, 36, of Forest Park was cited for not having animal licenses for his dogs after they attacked another dog walking in the 1000 block of Marengo Avenue.A woman told police she was walking her Shepard-Greyhound mix around 7:40 a.m. when two other dogs, a Doberman-Lab mix and a pit bull, pushed through a partly-opened chain fence and attacked and bit her dog.
The woman's dog was not injured, police said. Huether was received a local ordinance citation ticket and a Sept. 4 court date for failing to get animal license for his dogs, police said.
Car Stolen
Someone stole a maroon Dodge Grand Caravan parked in the 300 block of Marengo Avenue between 10:30 p.m. July 18 and 7:30 a.m. July 19.Retail Theft
Police charged Michael Nimock, 44, of Maywood with retail theft around 10:30 a.m. at Walmart, 1300 Des Plaines Ave. A store employee told police she saw Nimock put several gift cards on top of a bunch of women's shirts in his shopping cart, then fold over the clothes to hide them. The employee then followed Nimock around the store, watching him take watches from the girls section and electronic clippers from the health and beauty section.Nimock ran when Walmart personnel tried to take him to the security office, police said. Police found a knife and four gift cards on Nimock when they stopped him outside the store. He was processed on the charge and held on bond.

Retail Theft
Police charged Henry Butler, 26, of Chicago with retail theft around 7:30 p.m. at Walmart, 1300 Des Plaines Ave. A store employee told police he saw Butler put two GPS units in his pockets, then put one of them on a store display and left with the other item still in his pocket. Butler was processed, given a Sept. 10 court date and held on bond.See also:
