WEDNESDAY, JULY 17

Man Wanted in Attempted Murder Investigation Arrested

Police arrested a man wanted in an attempted murder investigation in Maywood around 10:50 a.m. in the 7900 block of Madison Street. Police said someone from Concordia Cemetery called police to report a suspicious person who jumped over the fence at the blue line tracks at 711 Des Plaines Ave. and started running through the cemetery.

Police stopped the man, Keontae McKinney, 18, of Bellwood, who told police he ran from the CTA station because three men tried to jump him, police said. 

McKinney, who had two bags of marijuana on him, was processed on one count of marijuana possession, given an Aug. 27 court date and held for Maywood police. 

TUESDAY, JULY 16

Man Threatens to Cut People at McDonald's

Scotty Ross, 34, of Maywood was arrested for disorderly conduct after he allegedly threatened to cut people with a box cutter at McDonald's, 420 Des Plaines Ave. around 9:20 a.m. 

A witness told police Ross walked into the restaurant and said loudly, "Someone better call the police before I start cutting people," police said. 

Ross told police he was on the bus and that, "Somebody was gonna do something to somebody so I did what I did to get you guys," police said. He was processed, given a Sept. 3 court date and held on bond. 

Marijuana

Bryant Smith, 22, of Bolingbrook was arrested marijuana possession during a traffic stop near the intersection of Marengo Avenue and Randolph Street around 12:45 a.m. Smith was given a local ordinance citation and released at the scene. 

MONDAY, JULY 15

Marijuana

Police charged Jacquay Holmes, 28, of Chicago with marijuana possession around 3:20 p.m. at Walmart, 1300 Des Plaines Ave. 

Holmes, who was parked illegally in a handicapped space at Walmart, told police she bought 1.5 grams of marijuana from a dealer in the city. Police said Holmes had about four grams on her. 

She was given tickets for parking illegally and marijuana possession, a Sept. 4 court date and released at the scene. 

Warrant: Trespassing, Marijuana

Lyons police arrested Steven Powell, 37, of Hinsdale with a warrant for marijuana possession out of Forest Park and a warrant for criminal trespassing out of DuPage County. Powell was arrested around 3:40 p.m. and held for bond hearings. 

Bike Stolen

Someone stole a $100 men's bike from a rack in the 700 block of Des Plaines Avenue between about 5 p.m. July 14 and 11:30 a.m. July 15.
