SUNDAY, JULY 7
Teen Arrested for Theft
Police charged a 17-year-old boy with theft, property damage, illegal weapon use and attempted obstruction around 8:20 p.m. in the 7300 block of Harrison Street.An officer stopped the kid after seeing him take a "keep out" sign from the fence at the vacant Roos building, which has been ordered for emergency demolition. When asked why he took the sign, the kid said, "I wanted it."
He was processed on the four charges and given a July 8 court date in the Cook County Juvenile Justice Division.

Rental Car Past Due
Claude Mitchell, 25, of Chicago, was arrested for trespassing a rental car that was due back to the car company on May 27.During a traffic stop around 2:20 a.m. near the intersection of 1st Avenue and Madison Street, police found a letter from Enterprise, notifying Mitchell of the violation, police said. He was processed on one misdemeanor count of trespassing and given an Aug. 27 court date.
SATURDAY, JULY 6
Reckless Conduct, Marijuana
Police arrested Brian Cousar, 24, of Grayslake, for reckless conduct and marijuana possession after he slapped the windshield of a car around 12:30 a.m. in the 7200 block of Madison Street.Police said Cousar had a hard time standing up and that two bags of marijuana fell out of his shorts when officers told him to take his hand out of his pants. He was processed, given an Aug. 27 court date and held for bond hearings.
Man Arrested for Interference
Jason O'Neal, 27, of Forest Park, was arrested for obstructing justice after he tried to take a drunk woman home.Police said O'Neal interfered with the officer assisting the the woman, who was vomiting in the street around 12:40 a.m. near the intersection of Madison Street and Burkhardt Court. Police said O'Neal insisted the woman didn't need an ambulance or help from police.
O'Neal continued to interfere by yelling and cursing at paramedics and trying to block them from helping the woman, police said. He was given a ticket for disorderly conduct, a Sept. 4 court date and released. The woman was taken to Oak Park Hospital, police said.
Felon Caught With Unregistered Gun
Police charged Anthony Johnson, 31, of Chicago with illegal use or possession of a weapon by a felon, illegal liquor transport, driving without insurance and speeding around 2:15 a.m. near the intersection of Harlem Avenue and 16th Street.During a traffic stop, police found a 9mm semi-automatic pistol in Johnson's waistband and a half-empty bottle of gin in the front seat, police said.
When asked why he was carrying the gun, Johnson snickered and said, "I plead the fifth," police said. He was processed, given a July 11 court date and held for bond hearings.
