When police stopped Myron Nichols, 42, for failing to signal about 4:40 p.m., Thomas Foster, 23, got out of the car and started running north on Elgin Avenue, where he dropped two bags of cocaine and six bags of heroin behind a bush, police said.

Foster was stopped in the 500 block of Elgin Avenue. Police said he had several text messages from people looking to buy "hard" and "soft"—cocaine and heroin—and $244 in his pocket.

During a search of Nichols' car, police found three bags of heroin. They also found $207 in his pocket, police said.

Foster admitted the nine bags of heroin and two bags of cocaine belonged to him. He told police he purchased the drugs and that he and Nichols were headed to the yellow building near Harlem Avenue and Jackson to party and smoke weed with a couple of females, police said.

He was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, obstructing an officer and marijuana possession. He was processed, given a Sept. 5 court date and held on bond.
