3 Men Arrested After Fight With Officer: Police Blotter

Forest Park police reports, July 28

SUNDAY, JULY 28

Three Forest Park men face obstruction charges after an altercation with a police officer in the 900 block of Harlem Avenue.

Police responded to a call around 8:30 p.m. about a fight between Kenneth Crump, 26, of Forest Park and a woman. When the officer asked Cassius Lemon, 20, of Forest Park what was going on, Lemon said, “Nothing’s going on... Kenneth was arguing with a girl but they are done arguing.”

When the officer asked to talk to the people inside the house, Lemon said, “You’re not going in the house without a warrant.”

As the officer went up the stairs to knock on the door, Lemon shoved him and started to throw punches, police said. Kenneth and Kendrick Crump, 24 and 26, then joined to block the officer from arresting Lemon.

Kenneth Crump was arrested at the house for an outstanding warrant for battery. Lemon was arrested after a quick chase in the 1000 block of Elgin Avenue, police said.

Lemon was processed on one count of felony aggravated battery to an officer, resisting and obstructing. He was given an Aug. 1 court date and held on bond.

Police said Lemon told police, “I’m coming back and I’m going to find you. I’m going to take you out. I can take a bullet that’s not going to stop me… Maybrook court is a joke. I’ll be out in no time and I’m coming back for you.”

The Crumps were processed on two counts each of obstructing an officer and given a Sept. 10 court date. Kenneth Crump was also processed on the warrant and held on bond.
