Driving With Weed, Tequila
Desmond Collins, 36, of Chicago, was charged with cannabis possession, illegal transportation of alcohol, driving without a valid license, drivin without an insurance and a seat belt violation after a traffic stop at Harlem and Interstate 290. Police said Collins ran a red light, and after stopping him they found an open bottle of tequila in the car as well as 1 gram of marijuana.
Parking Meter Stolen
A paring meter in the 400 block of Elgin was removed from the street. A public works employee discovered the theft while collecting money and estimated the loss was $30 in change and $160 for the meter. There was a security camera outside of Duckfat Tavern that could be checked to find a possible offender. The theft occurred sometime between 3 p.m. March 8 and 8 a.m. March 15.

$300 Booze Stolen
Jesse D. Fells, 49, of Berwyn, was charged with retail theft after police were called to USA Beverage, 7200 Madison St. The store clerk said Fells stole a bottle of whisky, but then dropped it when chased out of the store. Fells fled on his bike, police said, but he was eventually caught. The bottle of whisky was valued at about $300. Fells said he planned to go home to "drink it with some girls." Felony charges were approved because he has a prior burglary conviction. He was given a March 21 court date.

Marijuana Possession
Collin F. Wade, 34, and Laura Miranda, 43, both of Oak Forest, were cited for marijuana possession following a traffic stop at Harlem and Interstate 290. Police said they found 2 grams of weed on Wade and 10 grams on Miranda.
