4.2 Ounces of Weed Found During Traffic Stop

Forest Park police stopped a car with tinted windows and found marijuana in the car. One man said he sells it to supplement his income.

A Plainfield man was charged with the intent to deliver marijuana April 24 in Forest Park following a traffic stop. 

Antonio Amador, 24, was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver after the stop, during which police said they found 4.32 ounces of weed. 

Jose A. Arce, 22, of Plainfield, and Luis Vargas, 25, of Romeoville, were charged with possession of marijuana, and Arce was also given additional charges of possession of drug equipment and driving with tinted windows.

Police said they smelled marijuana during the traffic stop, and the men said they just smoked before police pulled over the car. They gave police an ash tray that had a glass pipe in it. 

When Amador left the car, police said they saw a large bundle of cash in a rubber band, which Amador said amounted to $6,500 and was going to be used to shop in Cicero.

Following searches, police found about 8.2 grams of weed on Vargas and less than 2.5 grams on Arce, according to a police report. 

Meanwhile, a witness to the traffic stop told police that Amador threw a bag out of the window. Police retrieved it, and it contained 4.32 ounces of weed. According to police, Amador told officers that he sells marijuana to supplement his income.
