5 Hot Summer Albums from Reckless Records
Reckless Records recently re-opened in Forest Park after it flooded, and manager Gar Brandt shared five albums that are popular this summer.

Reckless Records' expansion into the suburbs wasn't as publicized as some store openings, but store manager Gar Brandt said it's been received well so far.
The Forest Park location opened in March, giving record buyers and traders a place to do business without traveling into the city (Reckless' other three locations are in Lake View, Wicker Park and the Loop.
It moved into the spot previously inhabited by Cyclopx. Brandt said the owner wanted to sell the entire record stock, so Reckless was able to move in relatively quickly.
Not everything was smooth, though—a recent flood shut down the business for a short time. But now it's back open, and Brandt has shared five hot summer albums, new and old, that have been popular in the store lately.
1. Vampire Weekend — Modern Vampires of the City
"That one is just flying off the shelves," Brandt said. The third album of the popular indie group was released in May and has remained popular.
2. The National — Trouble Will Find Me
Another indie rock album released in May remains one of the more popular albums this summer.
3-4. Re-issues — Sufjan Stevens and No Doubt
When old albums are re-issue on vinyl, there's often a mad dash that follows. Reckless Records is carrying the debut album of now-famous Sufjan Stevens, A Sun Came. Brandt didn't specify the No Doubt re-issue that was hot right now.
5. And a classic — The Runaways
You can never go wrong with a bit of Joan Jett, right? Brandt said he's listening to them this summer, along with Queens of the Stone Age.
