Airsoft Gun Stolen, DUI 3x Legal Limit: Police Blotter

SATURDAY, MARCH 30
Every Cent Taken
Someone kicked in the side door of a garage in the 600 block of Circle and stole $20 in change from two cups in the car.
Car Burglaries in Same Block
A resident in the 500 block of Hannah found several items from his car on the ground next to it in the morning. The glove box was open and several items were thrown about, but nothing appeared taken.

Another resident reported that someone entered his garage overnight, but the resident couldn't immediately determine if anything was taken. A third resident said her car was rummaged through. A child's backpack was moved from the back seat to the front, and the only items reported missing were a vehicle manual and a garage door opener.
Bike Stolen
Someone kicked in a door to a garage in the 400 block of Des Plaines Avenue and stole a red women's 21-speed Schwinn bicycle. The estimated loss was $500.

DUI 3 Times the Legal Limit
Sean M. Marks, 22, of Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop at 3:25 a.m. March 30 in the 300 block of Des Plaines Avenue.
Police said Marks was driving without headlights, and after stopping him they noticed his speech was slurred and he smelled like alcohol. Marks told police he had a couple of beers at Shortstop Lounge.
He failed three field sobriety tests and blew a blood alcohol content of .243, more than three times the legal limit. In addition to the DUI charge, he was charged with driving over the legal limit, driving without headlights and driving without insurance.
FRIDAY, MARCH 29
Airsoft Gun Stolen
Matthew T. Walker, 19, and Jacob K. Boulware, 18, both of Oak Park, were charged with retail theft after police were called to Walmart, 1300 Des Plaines Ave.
Store security said they left the store without paying for various items and fled into the cemetery across the street. While police were searching for Walker, the store security officer saw him get into a car.
Walker told police he took two Xbox controllers worth $129.92 total. Boulware was charged with taking an airsoft gun worth $35.77.
Car Burglaries
Someone stole the catalytic converter from a car parked in the 300 block of Marengo Avenue sometime between 10:30 p.m. March 26 and 2 p.m. March 27.
A Garmin GPS unit was taken from a Kia parked in the 600 block of Circle Avenue between 10 p.m. March 28 and 7:30 a.m. March 29.
