Aperion Care Forest Park Celebrates National Nursing Home Week May 10-16

In observance of Nursing Home Week, May 10 to 16, 2015, Aperion Care Forest Park will host a weeklong celebration to encourage residents, families and other close relatives to reach out to and visit with their loved ones and caregivers.

Aperion Care Forest Park’s festivities—which happen in various ways at nursing homes across the county—kick off every year with Mother’s Day and launch into a week of celebrating employees, residents and their families. Staff and residents look forward to it all year. Further, after the long, cold Illinois winter, it gives everyone the chance to enjoy the warmer temperatures, spring flowers and outdoors.

Aperion Care Forest Park’s fun events to highlight the week and kick off the summer include 5/11 - Marvelous Monday Breakfast, 5/12 - Super Duper Ice Cream Social, 5/13 - Fashionably Yours Fashion Show, 5/14 - Positive Picnic with staff gifts and 5/15 - Funlympics Friday with staff contestants and resident coaches.

National Nursing Home Week is an annual observance sponsored nationally by the American Health Care Association based in Washington, D.C.
