On April 25th in Berwyn: 'Health Care in Retirement'
In free session during Money Smart Week, program covers Parts A through D of Medicare, Medicare supplements and different available plans

Trying to make heads or tails of health care, with its seemingly endless changes and complexity, is enough to make just about anyone queasy.
Against that backdrop, a retirement planning expert who speaks with clarity and authority is the perfect antidote. Starting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25th Jim Flanagan of Bentron Financial Group leads an in-depth discussion on Health Care in Retirement at Berwyn Public Library, 2701 S. Harlem Ave.

In his one-hour presentation, Flanagan will provide detail of the four parts of Medicare: Part A (Hospital Insurance), Part B (Medical Insurance), Part C (Medicare Advantage), and Part D (Prescription Drugs).
Flanagan will also share his knowledge of Medicare Supplements and the different plans that are available. In addition, attendees will receive an overview of long-term care insurance and the four strategies used to protect yourself from the high costs of long-term care.

The presentation is being held in conjunction with Money Smart Week, a public awareness campaign from April 21-28 that is designed to help consumers better manage their personal finances. The campaign was launched in 2002 by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago; more information about the week is at http://www.moneysmartweek.org/
The founder of Bentron Financial Group, Flanagan has been advising people at or near retirement age for nearly 30 years and has become a nationally renowned expert on financial issues that affect seniors. In 2001, building on his 15 years in the financial services field and his knowledge of risk management, financial planning and business succession planning, he formed Bentron Financial Group, LLC.
In 2005, Flanagan joined the Oak Park/River Forest Township Senior Services Committee, for which he has served as chairman since 2008. In 2010, he founded the Celebrating Seniors Coalition, a not-for-profit organization that, among other services, helps seniors with emergency needs and raises public awareness of issues affecting seniors in Oak Park, River Forest and Forest Park.
