Burglar Steals Car, Purse While Residents Sleep: Police Blotter

Laptop Stolen

Someone stole a white Mac Book Air computer sometime between 9 a.m. May 27 and 9 a.m. June 1 from a home in the 400 block of Ferdinand Avenue. The estimated loss is $1,500, police said.

Catalytic Converter Cut From Lexus

Someone cut the catalytic converter from a 2008 Lexus between 11:40 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Police said the store's security footage showed a man in a white t-shirt get out of a green GMC van and tamper with the Lexus.

Burglar Took Car, Purse While Residents Were Sleeping

A resident reported someone broke into her home in the 500 block of Elgin Avenue while she was sleeping and stole a purse, car keys and a 2005 Chevy Malibu. The resident told police she found muddy footprints on her kitchen floor and the windowsill that leads to the gangway, police said. Police said the burglary occurred sometime between 2 and 5 a.m.
