How did the business come to be?
The store has been in Forest Park since, I believe, 1920. But the Schauer Family has been here for 16 years. I am third generation of hardware owner.

Why did you choose the area?
At the time Peaslee had the store and it seemed to be a great neighborhood/area to keep a hardware store. And it still is!
What does your business offer?
What don't I do for customers? We cut glass, keys, pipe, shades, wood, plexiglass...We sell hardware, paint, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, tools, Weber grills. We try to do it all. But service will always be there!
What's something interesting about your business your customers might not know?
I am third generation hardware owner. We have three rolling ladders in the store, which is rare nowadays...and it is haunted.
What's your most popular product or service?
I would have to say keys is the most popular product. We cut over 3,500 keys a month! As far as service, repair on windows and screens.
