Voting Rights don't just happen. Rather they need to be defended -- not just once but in election after election. Who are the Defenders? People who are willing to do the often unglamorous work of just showing up. Christian Harris as State Director of Common Cause Illinois has used his experience to build Common Cause's statewide election protection network. He'll share what he's learned about building coalitions that are ongoing and last more than one election cycle as well as his belief that a big part of the defense of democracy involves nurturing and growing the next generation of leaders.
Please join the League of Women Voters of Oak Park and River Forest at our Coffee and Conversation event for a lively discussion.
The program is free and open to the public.
