Driver Threatens Another With Gun

Forest Park police reported quite the case of alleged road rage.

A Forest Park motorist was charged with assault and battery after threatening another driver with a gun April 9, police said.

Tavoris C. Dixon, 34, of Forest Park, was charged with assault, battery and resisting arrest.

A victim told police that Dixon threatened him with a handgun at 5:33 p.m. near Harrison Street and Des Plaines Avenue. The man said he was driving and didn't let Dixon's car pull in front of his at the intersection.

Dixon pulled up next to the victim and simulated a motion of pulling a trigger, saying, "Next time I see you, I'm going to put two in your (expletive) head." He continued following the driver, who at that point feared for his safety and called 911.

Police said they located Dixon and questioned him, but that he continued to disobey police orders. At the station, he became verbally hostile, police said, saying "he hopes police do not get hurt," because he works at Loyola Hospital and wouldn't give them treatment.
