A Joliet man was charged with drunk driving after blowing through a red light next to a Forest Park police officer at 2:19 a.m. May 5.
The officer was sitting at the red light at Harlem and Madison in Forest Park when a silver BMW ran through the light. The car continued to drive away from police, who were going 60 mph in a 30-mph zone. Officers eventually curbed the car at Harlem and 13th.
Ivan D. Torres, 27, of Joliet, told police he was coming home from a party. He failed field sobriety tests and blew a .159, nearly twice the legal limit.
