SUNDAY, JULY 28

3 Arrested for Stealing at Walmart

Police charged Candice Thomas, 18, Tiara Robinson, 18 and Nicole Miller, 21, all of Maywood, with retail theft around 10 p.m. at Walmart, 1300 Des Plaines Ave. Walmart employees told police they saw the women putting items in their purses and leave the store without paying.

Police said Thomas stole two t-shirts, totaling about $16; Miller stole 2 packages of socks, a pair of shorts, a white t-shirt and Johnson & Johnson baby bubble bath, totaling about $27; and Robinson stole bubble bath, two skirts, a pair of shorts, four shirts and a package of socks, totaling about $68.

They received local ordinance citations and a Sept. 4 court date and were released from the scene.

SATURDAY, JULY 27

DUI, Leaving Scene of Accident

Police charged Charles Williams, 44, of Chicago with an improper turn at an intersection, driving under the influence of alcohol and accident driven from scene at 1 a.m. in the 7500 block of Harvard Street.

Police said Williams was involved in an accident at Harlem Avenue and I-290 and drove away without exchanging information with the driver of the other car. The driver of the other car followed Williams home, where police arrived to arrest him. He had a blood alcohol content of .185. He was processed and given a Sept. 17 court date.

FRIDAY, JULY 26

License Arrest

Police charged Alicia Salazar, 22, of Berwyn, with driving without a license or insurance, no tail lights and with expired registration around 2 a.m. near the intersection of Beloit Avenue and Madison Street. She was processed, given a Sept. 10 court date and released on bond.

Warrant Arrest

Police charged Isha Owens, 23, of Chicago with a warrant out of Vermilion County for a traffic offense around 8 a.m. near the intersection of Beloit Avenue and Madison Street. She was released on bond.

Burglary on Ferdinand

A resident of the 1000 block of Ferdinand Avenue in Forest Park reported someone broke into her home between July 15 and July 19 and stole an animal trap, a dog cage, winter boots, garden tools and power tools, worth a total of about $300.

Man Arrested for Using Someone Else's Handicapped Placard

Police charged Peter Skiouris, 59, of Barrington Hills with illegal use of a handicapped placard around 3:15 p.m. in the 400 block of Marengo Avenue. Skiouris told police the placard was his, but that he didn’t have any proof. Police said the placard was issued to a woman. Skiouris received a local ordinance citation and a Sept. 4 court date.
