A Maywood man was charged with a DUI and resisting arrest after police responded to a car accident near Thornton's, 601 Harlem Ave., just after midnight on May 4.
Police said DeAngelis N. Bronner, 24, was racing southbound on Harlem, and that caused the accident. Bronner was seen yelling into his cell phone, saying, "I'm going to fight them!" according to police reports.
Bronner walked toward two people from another car, and officers stopped him and warned him to stay back. Police tried to put him in cuffs, but Bronner resisted until the threat of a Taser was used.

A 375ml bottle of Patron tequila was found in the back seat, and most of it was gone. There were also several small cups with tequila in them. Bronner told police he didn't drink any tequila and was driving because he was angry at his girlfriend.
Police performed field sobriety tests and determined Bronner was under the influence of alcohol.
