Explosion and Fire Tuesday at Turano's Bakery in Oak Park
Four people hurt, one seriously.

Four people were hurt Tuesday afternoon in a propane-tank accident and fire at Turano’s Bakery’s truck garage in Oak Park in the 6500 block of Roosevelt Road. Three people were taken to Rush Oak Park Hospital. One person with serious burns was taken to the Loyola Medical Center Burn Unit. They were in the garage across the street from the bakery at the time of the fire, about 2:15 p.m., according to fire officials. Workers removing a propane tank from a bakery delivery truck released propane, which hit a heater in the garage and exploded, according to the fire department. The bakery was open this afternoon. The Chicago Tribune reports that flying bricks from the explosion damaged a nearby house.
