FEMA Aid Possible for Area Flood Damage
Forest Park and River Forest officials are asking residents to detail their flood damage. If it meets a certain dollar threshold, these municipalities could qualify for federal relief.

Last week's floods could be enough for some municipalities to collect individual relief from FEMA, but residents' help is needed.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency could grant financial assistance to Forest Park and River Forest, but only if "a certain dollar threshold is met," in damages, according to a Forest Park news release.
Any residents with damage should complete a form so the village can best determine a dollar amount of the overall damage for residents and present its case to Cook County.

By this Thursday, April 25, residents should complete this form and return it to Village Hall, 517 Des Plaines Ave. Forms are also available at Village Hall, Howard Mohr Community Center, Forest Park Public Library, Ed's Way Grocery Store, Forest Park National Bank and Trust and Schauer Hardware.

River Forest officials are also asking residents to help get FEMA funding for flood-related expenses by filling out this survey.
Flood-related debris will be collected this Wednesday, April 24 and/or Wednesday, May 1. Collection will take place at the curb and disposal stickers are not required. Material placed at the curb prior to either collection date will be collected by the Roy Strom Refuse Company.
