DUI, Hit and Run
A Chicago man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and traffic charges after a hit and run in the 7200 block of Jackson Boulevard about 3 a.m., police said.Charles Burks, 38, of Forest Park, was arrested for driving without a license and traffic violations about 12:45 a.m. near the intersection of Circle and Howard avenues. He was processed, given an Oct. 8 court date and released on bond.

Couple Steals 21 DVDs, Bra, Shoes
Police charged Porter Smith, 49, of Chicago, and Angela Gosney, 33, of Oak Park, with retail theft at Walmart, 1300 Des Plaines Ave. A Walmart employee told police they watched Gosney and Smith take 21 DVDs, a bra, a pair of shoes and two bottles of coke about 1:20 p.m. The employee said Gosney removed her used shoes and put on the brand new pink shoes, then put the merchandise in a green tote bag while Smith stood watch, police said.Police arrested Gosney and Smith, who were hiding in a book store on Roosevelt Road around 1:35 p.m. The cost of the merchancdise was about $343, police said.
They were processed on felony retail theft charges, given an Aug. 15 court date and held on bond.
Warrant: Theft, Contempt of Court
Police charge Panagiotis Skoufis, 34, of Bloomingdale, with two warrants for theft out of Glendale Heights and for contempt of court out of Cook County during a traffic stop about 9:10 a.m. at I-290 and Harlem Avenue. He was processed and held for Glendale Heights police.THURSDAY, AUGUST 8
Man Gives Cop Fake Name, Says He Lost ID at a Party
Police charged Darryl Reaves, 48, of Maywood, with resisting and obstruction and a warrant for a traffic offense during a stop about 8:35 p.m. on Madison Street near the River Forest railroad tracks. Reaves told police he lost his ID at a party, and gave police a false name and birth date during the stop. He was processed and given a Sept. 24 court date.WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 7
Cab Driver Arrested
George Whittington, 57, of Forest Park, was arrested for failure to display a insurance liability sticker in his cab and driving without a valid taxicab license around noon in the 700 block of Des Plaines Avenue. He was given a local ordinance citation and an Oct. 2 court date.Man Steals DVDs From Walmart
Police charged Jose Vasquez, 24, of Melrose Park, with retail theft at Walmart, 1300 Des Plaines Ave. around 4 p.m. A store employee told police he saw Vasquez put DVDs in his pants and leave the store without paying. Police said he took more than $200 in DVDs. He was processed, given a Sept. 10 court date and released on bond.Warrant: Suspended License
Police charged Nicole Boykin, 30, of Forest Park, with a warrant out of DuPage County for driving on a suspended license during a traffic stop near the intersection of Thomas Avenue and Adams Street around 8:40 p.m. She was processed, given a Sept. 12 court date and released.Police Blotter information is provided by local law enforcement agencies.
