Forest Park Man Wins $100K On Scratch-Off Lottery Ticket

Dan Scollard was dining at a restaurant when he scratched off an Illinois Lottery ticket worth $100,000.

FOREST PARK, IL — A lifelong Forest Park resident and father of four hit it big with a $100,000 scratch-off win on a recent Illinois Lottery Holiday Bonus ticket he bought at a store in town. Dan Scollard told Lottery officials he was with his wife at a restaurant having dinner when he found out about his big win.

“When we saw the $100,000 prize amount, my wife screamed, and then everyone in the place knew we won the lottery and congratulated us!” said Scollard, a 37-year-old who plans to use the windfall to pay bills.

The Holiday Bonus ticket costs $5 and offers six top prizes of $100,000.

Scollard bought his ticket at Forest Park Liquors at 7429 W. Madison St. in Forest Park. The store will get a $1,000 bonus from the Illinois Lottery for selling the winning ticket.
