'Jesus St. Steven' Tells Cops to Eff Off

Harold S. Sledge, 53, of Chicago, was charged with solicitation after police spoke to him about sleeping on the sidewalk near the CTA stop at 1 S. Harlem Ave. Sledge reportedly told officers "f*** you," and gave them multiple fake names, including "Doreen Jesus," "Sledge Stevens" and "Jesus St. Steven." He was given a June 4 court date.

Throwing Beer Cans

Joseph J. Avila, 23, of Chicago, was cited under a local ordinance for public intoxication after police said he was throwing beer in the street. Police said Avila told them he left a bar with his drink and then threw it in the air because "he did not want to be walking around with beer."

THURSDAY, APRIL 25

Retail Theft

Taneria S. Deer, 25, of Chicago, was charged with retail theft after police were called to Kmart, 7630 Roosevelt Rd. Store security said she took $131 in items from the store. She was given a June 11 court.
