Man Charged With Resisting Arrest After 'Bogus Stop' Turns Up Nothing
Forest Park police suspected a La Grange Park man of dealing drugs, but after searching his car for drugs and weapons found nothing. The man became angry and resisted arrest after refusing to leave his car, police said.

A La Grange Park man was charged with obstructing an officer March 26 after police searched his car for drugs and guns but found nothing.
Micah R. Anderson, 25, was seen loitering in an alley in the 7700 block of Roosevelt Road in Forest Park, police said. They saw him talk to a woman briefly, then go to a car and shake hands with a man.
Police suspected it was a drug deal, so they approached Anderson.

Officers asked Anderson why he shook hands with the person in the car, and he said he was greeting his cousin, Lovell. Police said Anderson couldn't explain why he was in the area and "was very nervous and continued to fidget with his pants pockets and coat pockets."
When asked for his identification, he bent down to reach under the seat, and police ordered him not to for fear he could be grabbing a weapon. Anderson repeatedly said, "No, I'm just going to check," before police opened the door and pulled him from the car.

He continued to resist, pulling his arms away and grabbing the steering wheel, police said.
"Man, I was only looking for my wallet," Anderson said, according to the police report. He said he didn't have to comply with the orders because this was a "bogus stop."
Police searched the car for drugs and weapons but didn't find any. They did find Anderson's wallet under the seat, where he was reaching.
They went to an apartment on Roosevelt, where the man from the car who shook hands with Anderson identified him as his cousin as well. That man was released without any charges.
Anderson was given a May 28 court date for the charge of obstructing an officer.
