Man Flees Police, Hides in Dumpster: Police Blotter

After a driver littered, another man led Forest Park police on a foot chase across busy streets and was eventually

Cory Larde, 30, of Matteson, was charged with two counts of resisting/obstructing and one count of obstructing justice, marijuana possession, reckless conduct and battery. He also had an active in-state warrant.

Police stopped the car near Harlem and Adams just after midnight March 30 after seeing the driver litter. Officers got identification from three people in the car, but the front seat passenger, Larde, said he didn't have any identification.

Larde told police is name was Kenneth Larde, which came back clear with an address in Aurora. Larde said he had been arrested before, but nothing appeared when police searched his name. Police said he had "extreme nervousness," and was asked to get out of the car.

He was asked to spell is name again, and this time he said it was Kenntich, not Kenneth. The officer told him he was under arrested for obstructing identification, at which point he pushed an officer in the chest and fled on foot. Police said he ran across four lanes of traffic on Harlem, causing a few cars to slam on their brakes.

One officer deployed a Taser, but it didn't make contact with Larde. They later found Larde hiding in a dumpster in the 400 block of Elgin. Police searched him and found a bag with 7 grams of marijuana. Larde later told police he gave them the wrong name because he knew he had a felony warrant from the Park Forest Police Department.

He was given a May 7 court date. If he's able to post bond, he will go into the custody of Park Forest police.
