Forest Park police report retail theft charges and a break-in attempt at a liquor store.

Cosmetics Stolen From Wal-Mart

Police charged Megan Lynch, 30, of Cary with retail theft around 5:50 p.m. at Wal-Mart.

Police said a witness saw Lynch put several items from the cosmetics display in her pants and leave without paying. The total for the items she took was about $19, police said.

She was processed and held for bond hearings.

Boxer Briefs Stolen at Wal-Mart

Police charged  Jameica Brown, 39, of Chicago with retail theft around 3:20 p.m. at Wal-Mart, 1300 Des Plaines Ave.

Police said brown stole about $46 of merchandise, including two pairs of shorts and a pack of boxer briefs.

He was processed on one count of felony retail theft and given a June 6 court date.

Attempted Break-in at Cardinal Liquors

Police responded to an alarm around 2:15 a.m. at Cardinal Liquors, 7533 Roosevelt Rd. after someone tried to break in without success.

In the store’s surveillance video, a man entered the vestibule of the store and tried to open the inner door without success. The man was described as about 5-feet-7, heavy-set and wearing a black hoodie, baggy jean shorts, black gym shoes and black gloves.

Stroller Used to Hide Theft

Police charged Valyncia Graham, 23, of Bellwood with felony retail theft after she stole $364 in electronics and hair care items from Wal-Mart around 7:40 p.m. 

Police said Graham tried to leave the store with the merchandise hidden in her stroller and set off the sensor alarms. 

Graham told police her friend was putting the merchandise in the stroller and that she tried to buy lotion and perm to disguise the items in the stroller in case the sensors went off, police said. 

She was processed on one count of felony retail theft and given a May 30 court date.

Retail Theft at Wal-Mart

Police charged Tatiana Jackson, 20, of Chicago with retail theft for stealing 52 items—or $500 in merchandise, from Walmart, 1300 Des Plains Ave. around 3 p.m. 

A loss prevention employee at Walmart saw Jackson and another woman taking items from various displays and putting them into plastic bags. When the employee tried to stop the women, Jackson stopped and the other woman left in a black SUV that was waiting outside the store, police said. 

Jackson told police that of the 52 items, she’d put about $60 in merchandise in the cart. She was processed and charged with one count of retail theft and given a July 9 court date.
