
A Maywood man was charged with armed robbery April 12 after police say he stole cell phones from victims in the 7400 block of Madison Street.
Police saw a man who matched the description provided by the victims shortly after the robbery. He was at the front lobby of a building in the 7400 block of Washington trying to get inside, and police said he fled into a parking lot when he saw police. He then ducked behind a car to hide.
Peter Hrobowski, 18, of Maywood, was charged with three counts of armed robbery.

Police said they found a cell phone in his pants pocket, and also found three more cell phones behind the car where he was hiding.
Police also found a metal BB gun in the rear wheel well of the same car. Hrobowski was given an April 18 court date.
