Police said they saw Peterson leaving the building and he said he just argued with his "baby mama" and that he had to go when police asked him to stop. Police ordered Peterson to put his hands behind his back, and he reportedly said, "No, you're going to have to knock me out!" and pulled away from officers.

While he was restrained by one officer, he continually tried to charge at another officer, police said. Peterson became angry after the woman asked him for money to buy juice for their child, and he demanded entry into her apartment. The woman said he grabbed her arm and pulled her hair.

Peterson was given an April 10 court date.
