Maywood McDonald's Hosts Lincoln Elementary for McTeacher's Night

Lincoln Elementary School from District 89 in Maywood held their First Annual McTeacher's Night at the Maywood McDonald's on First Ave. on Wednesday, December 6th.

A McTeacher's Night is organized to help raise money for local schools by having teachers work at McDonald's and then giving a percentage of the night's sales to the local school.

On Wednesday the restaurant was taken over by teachers excited to serve freshly prepared meals to students and their families to raise money for Lincoln Elementary School. The students and families were excited to see their teachers and principal behind the counter and throughout the restaurant.

Twenty-six teachers and staff members worked from the elementary school. The McTeacher's jobs included greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, serving drinks, clearing tables, and serving ice cream cones--all duties which were executed with great enthusiasm.

Ronald McDonald stopped by to enjoy the festivities and meet the students and staff members. The students enjoyed getting their picture taken and giving Ronald McDonald high fives!

A special thank you goes to Lincoln Elementary School Principal Yadira Gomez-Munoz and Assistant Principal Amanda Williams, who organized the event and worked the entire evening, as well as everyone that worked and attended the event. Lincoln Elementary School teachers worked hard and with excitement, while the families enjoyed a spectacular evening.

Lincoln Elementary School plans to use the money raised to upgrade the classrooms. Lincoln Elementary School raised $458.00 at the event.
